12.11.2005:
Fight
Production’s female featherweight contender Damaris
Muthoni made a successful and victorious
return to the ring after her decision loss to
Ina Menzer for the WIBF Intercontinental title
in September, when she stopped Ugandan Nantongo
Mulinde in the fourth round on Saturday
(November 12) at the Pal Pal Gymnasium in
Nairobi, Kenya. Joseph Akhasamba promoted the
show in cooperation with Fight Production, Risum
Boxing and Pro Team Ashira Oure.
Muthoni
showed great desire in this scheduled
six-rounder, and continuously pummelled her
opponent with hard shots from all angles,
scoring three knockdowns in the process, before
the referee took mercy on Mulinde and stopped
the onslaught in round four. By that time,
Muthoni herself had shown NO Mercy, and
Mulinde’s face was badly swollen, which made
the decision even easier for the referee.
With
the victory, Muthoni upped her ledger to 7-3-2 (3),
and she will return to action again in Kenya
already next month at a date and venue yet to be
disclosed. Another victory in December could put
her in line for another title shot in Europe,
and most likely in Germany where female boxing
thrives better than anywhere. Nantongo Mulinde
dropped to 2-2 (0).
