13.03.06:
Cruiserweight Marco Heinichen's
planned fight at the end of
February in Bernau, Germany was
scrapped on short notice when manager
Olaf Schroeder instead agreed an
appearance on new promoter Elite
Boxing's inaugral show in
Potsdam, Germany on March 31.
Elite
Boxing are planning eight shows this
year in a series called "Friday
Night Fights", each at the
same site, Potsdam's 'Blue Box', and
always at the last Friday of a month.
For their debut promotion, Fight
Production will act as matchmaker and
Schroeder was able to get a promise
for further work for Heinichen, who
lives close-by in Berlin.

For the
32-year-old Heinichen, a
career-journeyman whose record now stands at
8-12-2 (5 KO's), this could be the chance of a
lifetime. "Nobody is under any illusions
that Marco will suddenly turn into a superstar
or something," says manager Schroeder,
"but it's a nice chance to get regular
work for a nice guy, who really deserves a
break."
On March 31,
Heinichen will meet Slovakian Imrich Borka
over four rounds and a good win is required to
get things rolling.
