29.03.06: For
heavyweight Richel Hersisia the last few weeks were not
all that motivating. Though the Den Haag athlete can point to an
impressive record of 27 wins from his 28 professional fights,
the Dutchman experienced severe troubles with his right shoulder.
In
early March an operation was performed on the 31-year-old in
Cologne, Germany.
"Of
course I felt a bit uneasy beforehand. But everything went well
and last week I started with the rehab and running," the
sympathic heavyweight explains.
"I’m
not yet allowed to fully use my right shoulder, but in three
weeks I will again be able to work with my strong hand and train
normally," continues the Olaf Schroeder-managed Hersisia,
"by mid or end June I expect to be ready for my next
fight."
Richel
Hersisia is definately looking forward to his return:
"The
last few weeks have been terribly boring. For a professional
fighter it doesn’t feel right not to train. You sit at home,
watch television and just hope to soon be back in the ring to
get on with things", said the heavyweight.
