20.11.2007: Fight
Production’s two heavyweight stars, Dutchman Richel
Hersisia,
30-2 (24 KO’s), and German Willi
Fischer,
34-6-1 (22 KO’s), are expected to return to the ring in early
2008, according to Olaf Schroeder. “Next
year will be a hugely important year for both of them,”
explained the manager, “and we will not hold them back from
challenges.”
‘The
Dutch Sonny Liston’, Hersisia, started 2007 with a fifth-round
destruction of Georgian Zurab Noniashvili, before switching
trainers from Torsten Schmitz to former world champion brothers
Ralf and Graciano Rocchgiani. Their partnership began with a
bang, as Hersisia gave world-ranked Taras Bidenko all he could
handle for 12 rounds in a fierce encounter that many thought the
Dutch champion won.

The
33-year-old closed the year in style, collecting the WBF
Intercontinental title with a one-round farce against Brazilian
champ Marcos Celestino. “Richel is in the form of his life,”
said manager Schroeder, “and we hope to land a bigger fight
soon. We are currently considering different options.”

Joining
Fight Production last spring was comebacking former
International German and WBO Intercontinental champion Willi
‘De Ox’ Fischer. The 35-year-old from Frankfurt, who at one
time was rated # 1 by the WBO but failed in a challenge to
Herbie Hide, wanted a shot at rectifying past mistakes. Despite
not exactly sparkling, Fischer nevertheless proved he is serious
in collecting two clear decision wins over East Europeans
Alexander Mileiko (6 rounds) and Aleksejs Kosobokovs (8 rounds).
And
manager Schroeder has demanded a test from promoter Arena
Box-Promotion for early next year, after Fischer’s busted
eardrum has healed just well. Schroeder told Arena’s Ahmet
Oener:

|
|
|
“Willi
is ready for a serious challenge in his next fight, he needs
this to keep up his fire and commitment. Also, we can’t waiste
time, so please look for a real ‘live’ opponent next!”.
