Frias And Fight Production Divorce!

30.4.2008: After losing his fourth consecutive fight (all on points) last month in Finland, Dominican lightwelterweight Cristian ‘La Cobra’ Frias was now released from his managerial contract with German manager Olaf Schroeder’s company Fight Production. The Dutch-based 31-year-old intends to continue his career, for the moment as a free agent.

Schroeder explains the decision, which was made amicably, as both boxer and manager were emphasizing:

Kovacs Vacates IBO Title!

29.4.2008: Fight Production’s only reigning ‘world’ champion IBO super welterweight king Attila ‘The Viper’ Kovacs’ decision to voluntarily relinquish his title today co-incited with the sanctioning bodies’ prolonged defence deadline running out, thus the title becomes vacant for the first time since 2004.

14.4.2008: Attila ‘The Viper’ Kovacs last night appeared in his hometown of Gyor, Hungary for the first time since 2005 to headline a show staged by Profibox Promotion, the company headed by Hungarian heavyweight champion Zoltan Petranyi. The 33-year-old IBO superwelterweight champion duely send his fans home happy, although it must be said that Kovacs had not much to beat in front of him.

Comparable in name only, Kovacs improved his stellar record to 23-1 (16 KO’s) when referee Bela Florian halted compatriot Istvan Kovacs (no relation, neither to the former WBO featherweight champion of the same name) in the third round. Nasir Impressive In Aarhus!

5.4.2008: Super middleweight Fawaz Nasir improved his record to 13-2 (8) last night (April 4) in Aarhus Denmark, when he dominated Tanzanian Maneno Oswald (27-16-1, 21 KOs) before knocking him out in the second round of a scheduled six.

Fischer Back In May!

1.4.2008: German heavyweight Willi 'De Ox' Fischer is set to continue his so-far successful comeback campaign in May on a show staged by Arena Box-Promotion, the Hamburg-based promotional firm today announced. The former WBO heavyweight title challenger from Frankfurt began his ring return last summer after a two-year lay off under the guidance of Olaf Schroeder's German management company Fight Production and is now on a four-fight winning run.

13.3.2008: Fawaz Nasir (12-2, 7 KOs) has been handed a magnificent, once-in-a-lifetime, opportunity to make something of an international breakthrough. If he beats Tanzanian puncher Maneno Oswald (27-16-1, 21 KOs) on April 4 in Aarhus, Denmark, he will enter a new tournament called “The KO World Series” with boxers from all around the world fighting for the opportunity to box for a title in the USA late this year.

9.3.2008: In his first fight in hometown Aarhus in more than five years, Danish super middleweight Fawaz Nasir will be facing a tough challenge in former IBF Continental Africa champion Maneno “The Tanzanian Tyson” Oswald on the April 4 promotion at the NRGI Arena staged by Team Vester in cooperation with Risum Boxing.

Oswald, who is coming to Denmark with a fresh knockout victory, has won no less than 21 of his 27 victories inside the scheduled distance, and has, besides the IBF Continental Africa crown, also been holder of the East and Central Africa title, and challenged for the Commonwealth crown. 25.2.2008: It almost escaped public attention, but it seems that Hungary’s IBO ‘world’ superwelterweight champion Attila ‘The Viper’ Kovacs has lost non of his poison as he celebrated a successful debut for new management Fight Production on Tuesday, February 19 at the Gilda-Max Gym in Budapest.

20.2.2008: Frankfurt sports photographer Norbert Lochmann of www.kunstmenschen.com last weekend accompanied comebacking German heavyweight Willi Fischer and his team – consisting of head trainer Tom Leidenheimer, physical coach Boris Schwarz, mental coach Matthias Werner and manager Olaf Schroeder of Fight Production – to The Netherlands, where the 35-year-old scored his fourth win in a row to lift his overall record to 35-6-1 (22 KO’s). Lochmann, who also is responsible for the picture on Fischer’s new autograph card and had already photographed the former WBO ‘world’ title challenger’s training, was “made part of the team and that allowed me to capture the action before, during and after the fight as close as it gets”. While the ‘Dutch Sonny Liston’ Richel Hersisia from The Hague has not been in a home-country ring since 2005 and has shifted his training base to Germany, German heavyweight Willi Fischer headlined last night a small pro/am show in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands – and it worked! 13.2.2008: Hungarian newspaper ‘Blikk’ today broke the story that an all-Hungarian showdown between current IBO ‘world’ superwelterweight champion Attila ‘The Viper’ Kovacs and former holder of the same title Mihaly Kotai has been discussed. Kotai, of course, has formerly been managed by Fight Production, while Kovacs has just recently signed with the company of German manager Olaf Schroeder.
